That’s Life, written by Dean Kay and Kelly Gordon, was first sung by American jazz singer Marion Montgomery in 1964. It was a huge hit for Frank Sinatra in 1966, featuring on his album of the same name. Check them both out in Odd Ditties!

Save Tonight, written by Eagle-Eye Cherry, was the lead single from his 1997 debut album Desireless.

Iris, written by John Rzeznik, featured in the 1997 film City of Angels. It would later appear on The Goo Goo Dolls 1998 album, Dizzy Up the Girl. The song has a fairly bizarre tuning (BDDDDD), although some of the Ds are in different octaves, of course, providing a sort of “chorus” effect.

Love In Vain was written by the legendary Robert Johnson, and was recorded in 1937 during his last recording session. In 1939 it was issued as the last of his original 78rpm records.
