VERSE:
E G E G E G E G
I'd like to go upstate and I'd like to go up the river
E G E G E G E G
I'm gonna walk up the street 'cause I have no place left to go

CHORUS:
E G E G E G E G
I'm gonna walk, I'm gonna walk, I'm gonna walk up the street
E G E G E G
I'm gonna walk up the street 'cause I have no place left to go

VERSE:
Well, I know it'll be boring and I will come home alone
But I'm gonna walk up the street 'cause I have no place else to go

[repeat CHORUS]

VERSE:
Well I used to wake up in the Back Bay at 5 o'clock
And all the stores were closed and I had no place to go
So I couldn't stand to stay in my room, I couldn't stand to stay alone
I'm gonna walk up the street, I have no place else to go

[repeat CHORUS]

VERSE:
Well, I'm not gonna go to the dating bar
It's the only place I know
I'm gonna walk up the street, I have no place else to go

[repeat CHORUS]

VERSE:
Well, see Cambridge in the nightime, I can't stand to stay alone
I'm gonna walk up the street, I have no place else to go
Well, I used to go down to bus stations,
Used to hang around and fall asleep alone (terrible)
I'm gonna walk up the street, I have no place else to go

[repeat CHORUS] [x2]

VERSE:
Well, Cambridge can be terrible in the wintertime alone,
And New York is no better, you just feel at the centre of it all
Well, I used to go down to Back Bay and freeze alone
I would walk up the street I had no place else to go

[repeat CHORUS]

[spoken]
Way down... It's time for a change of plan...
Need a change of plan... A change of strategy...

VERSE:
See, I used to walk up the street 'cause I hated to stay alone
But maybe I'll read a book, maybe I'll stay at home
Well, loneliness won't get any better at the zoom zoom when it's so cold
I'm gonna stay in my room, I have no place else to go

[repeat CHORUS]

[play: E G] [x4]
