NOTES:
When LC first wrote this, Columbia Records refused to issue it, citing lack of
commercial potential. Since John cale's cover of this song, it has been
covered by almost 200 artists in various languages. According to RIAs in the
U.S., Canada and Australia, and the International FPI, the song has sold 5m
copies in CD format. The transcription of the lyrics is of John Cale's cover,
which became a sort of standard for the song.

The song is in slow waltz time (3/4) and evokes a sort of Gospel feel.
But the chords are fairly easy, so enjoy!
