The Go Go’s  are an American, all-female, new wave band formed in Los.Angeles in 1978. Except for short periods when other musicians joined briefly, they have had a stable quintet of Belinda Carlisle (lead vocals), Charlotte Caffey (lead guitar), Gina Schock (drums), Kathy Valentine (bass) and Jane Wiedlin (rhythm guitar).They rose to fame during the early 1980s. They are the first all-female band, that both wrote their own songs and played their own instruments, to top the Billboard album charts.


Kevin Godley & Lol Creme

Born Kevin Michael Godley, 7 October 1945 in Prestwich, Lancashire, UK; and Laurence Neil Creme, 19 September 1947 in Prestwich, KG and LC are songwriters, multi-instrumentalists, record producers and music video directors. From 1972-76, they were one of two songwriting teams in the group 10cc, enjoying successive hit UK singles with Rubber Bullets (#1), The Dean and I (#10) and Life Is A Minestrone (#7) in 1972-75. They left 10cc in 1976 to focus on music video production but were briefly re-united with 10cc 1991-93.


Gerry Goffin & Carole King

Born Gerald Goffin, in Brooklyn NYC, 11 February 1939; died in Los Angeles, CA, 19 June 2014. GG was an American lyricist. With his first wife, Carole King, he co-wrote many international pop hits of the early and mid-1960s, including the U.S. #1 hits “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”, “Take Good Care of My Baby”, “The Loco-Motion”, and “Go Away Little Girl”. It was later said of Goffin that his gift was "to find words that expressed what many young people were feeling but were unable to articulate." He and King were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

Born Carol Joan Klein, in Manhattan, NYC, 9 February 1942, CK is an American songwriter who has been active since 1958, initially as a staff writer in the Brill Building in NYC, and later as a solo artist. She is the most successful female songwriter of the latter half of the 20th century in the US, having written or co-written 118 pop hits on the Billboard Hot 100. King also wrote 61 hits that charted in the UK, making her the most successful female songwriter on the UK singles charts between 1952 and 2005.

GG, born 10 May 1946 in Broughton, Salford, UK; and ES, born Eric Michael Stewart, 20 January 1945, in Droylesden, near Manchester, UK, are songwriters, multi-instrumentalists and record producers who first played together in The Mindbenders in 1968. In 1970 they were re-united in a foursome with Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, producing material under various names. In 1972, 10cc was born and GG and ES became one of the two songwriting teams in that group which enjoyed phenomenal success 1972-1978. After the departure of Godley and Creme in 1976, GG and ES continued as 10cc (with 2 hiatuses) until 1999.
