Timing is 4/4. I did think about an Open A tuning, but that would mean tuning two strings up a tone, something I wouldn't do on principal. The album recording seems to have multiple guitars, or is multi-tracked. You might feel that you need to bulk the sound a bit as a solo guitar, so I've shown an Open D + capo 7 tuning you can try that will enable you to have a richer, more resonant sound.
