White uses a slide and an open tuning, but you don't necessarily need a slide. White uses Open A tuning (EAEAC#E). If you want to use an open tuning, I would suggest Open G (DGDGBD) and capo-ing on 2. However, the chords are so easy, you could just play this in standard tuning and play barrés in the instrumental breaks.
